Terror and fear has gripped Texas this morning after numerous people tragically lost their lives.

The state is in mourning after 13 people were killed and one more was injured in a horrifying church bus crash this morning. Daily Mail reported that the bus was taking 13 elderly church choir members back from a three-date retreat around 12:30pm on Wednesday when a pickup truck veered into oncoming traffic and hit the bus head-on.

The driver of the bus has been identified as Murray Barrett, 66, a 66 year-old semi-retired math teacher and father of four.

“I can’t think about a wedding day without my dad to walk me down the aisle,” wrote his daughter Jenn. “I can’t think about grandkids that will never know their grandfather. I can’t think about Christmas or holidays that will be so much harder without my dad.”

Barrett and 11 parisioners were pronounced dead at the scene while two were rushed to a local hospital. One later died there, while the other remains in serious but stable condition.

First Baptist New Braunfels said that those in the bus were returning home following a three-day retreat at the Alto Frio Baptist Camp in Leakey. The elderly parishioners had not wanted to drive home themselves, so they opted to take a ride instead.

“At approximately 12.30pm this afternoon, a group of our senior adults were returning home from a three-day retreat for singers 55 years and older at Alto Frio Baptist Encampment when their vehicle was involved in a head-on collision,” the church said in a statement. “We have heard that there have been fatalities, but we have not received any official details from the local authorities.”

“We are ministering to family members to help them deal with this tragedy. Counselors will be on hand at the church tomorrow. If you’re a Christian, you can pray for those who lost their loved ones and for the church family,” it added.

Please pray for ALL those affected by this tragedy!
