On Tuesday night, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow tried to humiliate President Donald Trump by releasing his 2005 tax return. Unfortunately for her, this backfired when the forms revealed that the president made $138 million in 2005 and paid $38 million in taxes that year, meaning there was nothing suspicious in the returns.
However, after the documents were released, it quickly became clear that not everyone in the White House Press Corps knows the basics of economics and taxes. The Gateway Pundit reported that April Ryan, the White House Correspondent and Washington Bureau Chief for American Urban Radio Networks, took to Twitter afterwards to show how ignorant she really is.
“So in 2005 @POTUS was not a Billionaire. He made in 2005 over 100 million dollars,” she wrote.
Clearly, Ryan has no idea what she’s talking about, as the fact that Trump reported over $100 million in one tax year in the 2000’s has no bearing on his net worth. In fact, nothing on a 1040 can tell anyone anything about a person’s net worth.
It’s disturbing that ignorant people like Ryan are representing the mainstream media in the White House. SHARE this story if you agree she’s not the sharpest tool in the shed!
