The city of Chicago, Illinois continued it’s descent into violence on Wednesday afternoon when a 16 year-old boy was killed and nine more were wounded in shootings across the city.
CBS Local reported that Kahari Stovall, 16, was fatally shot as he walked out of a store in the North Lawndale neighborhood just after 1pm. He was with a 19 year-old man when the gunman opened fire on them. Stovall was shot in the lower back and abdomen while his companion was shot in the knee, and though they were both rushed to the hospital, the younger did not survive. Thankfully, the 19 year-old is now in good condition.
The final shooting of the day occurred just after 11pm in the inbound lanes of the Kennedy Expressway between Addison and Kimball. A male driver was shot, but he was able to drive himself to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is not known at this time.
A 29 year-old man was shot as he sat in a parked vehicle at 10:22pm after a black car pulled up alongside him and opened fire. He was hit in the lower back and is now in stable condition.
A 27 year-old man was shot multiple times at 2:42pm as he walked on a sidewalk in Chicago. A vehicle approached him and stopped before a gunman got out and opened fire. He remains hospitalized in critical condition.
These cases show that even though Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, their crime rate is still incredibly high. This means that contrary to what liberals would have you believe, stricter gun laws will NOT solve the crime epidemic in this country!
