During Barack Obama’s sham of a presidency, he made sure his Department of Justice never cracked down on the radical Black Lives Matter movement despite the many incidents of violence and looting that was perpetrated by the group. Now that Donald Trump is in office, however, he’s making it clear that he has no intention of allowing the Black Lives Matter movement to get away with this anymore.
The Washington Post reported that Attorney General Jeff Sessions just instructed the Department of Justice to reform agreements with troubled police forces across the country. These agreements were put in place by the Obama administration as a means of fighting what it saw as an epidemic of police brutality against black citizens. However, Sessions said he wants these agreements reviewed to make sure they don’t undermine the Trump administration’s goals of promoting officer safety and morale while fighting violent crime.
Sessions revealed in a memo that was released on Monday that the agreements made between the department’s civil rights division and local police departments will be reviewed by two top deputies.
We’re glad to see that our government is finally making a move against Black Lives Matter to serve the best interests of our nation’s brave police officers. SHARE this story if you support this!
