On Monday, a top North Korean official warned that “nuclear war could break out at any moment” if President Donald Trump is “reckless enough to use military means.” Trump, however, wasn’t having any of it, and he has already fired back with a blistering response.

“We’ll be conducting more missile tests on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis,” said North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Han Song-Ryol, adding that an “all-out war” would result if the US took military action.

Daily Mail reported that Trump has shown that he is not phased by this by ordering two more aircraft carriers to head to the Korean Peninsula. This came after he already sent in the USS Carl Vinson, which is powered by nuclear reactors and carrying almost 100 aircraft and accompanied by destroyers, a cruiser, and a submarine to the region. The USS Ronald Reagan and the USS Nimitz have just been sent in to join the USS Carl Vinson as well.

Both vessels are more than 1,000ft long, and capable of carrying more than 90 aircraft. Trump has also told North Korea to keep its nuclear ambitions in check, telling dictator Kim Jong-un he has “got to behave.”

Vice President Mike Pence flew to Seoul this week and warned North Korea not to test the U.S., saying that his country’s “era of strategic patience” with North Korea was over.

“Just in the past two weeks, the world witnessed the strength and resolve of our new president in actions taken in Syria and Afghanistan,” Mr Pence said. “North Korea would do well not to test his resolve or the strength of the armed forces of the United States in this region.”
