Paris was rocked by yet another terrorist attack on Thursday night when one police officer was killed and another was wounded in what the authorities are calling an act of terror.
Daily Mail reported that a Kalashnikov-wielding gunman opened fire on the Champs Elysees in central Paris, putting the world famous avenue on lockdown by 9pm. One officer was shot dead and another was seriously wounded before the terrorist was shot and “neutralized.”
Police say that “at least” two people were involved in this attack. One witness said she heard a shooting, saw a man’s body on the ground and the area was quickly evacuated by police.
French presidential candidates were participating in a televised debate nearby at the time of the shooting.
France has been hit with many terrorist attacks in the past few years, including the Paris attacks in 2015 and the Bastille Day killings in Nice in 2016.
President Donald Trump has already broken his silence about this to call it a terrorist attack, something Barack Obama never would have done.
