After President Donald Trump announced on the campaign trail that “We’re going to bomb the sh*t out of ISIS,” it appears that he’s making good on his word.
Earlier today, we reported that Trump dropped the largest non-nuclear bomb in history on an ISIS tunnel in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province. Now, he has broken his silence over what he did, describing it as “another successful job” by the military.
The Daily Caller reported that the president dismissed the idea that the bombing was meant to influence North Korea.
“Really another successful job,” Trump said from the White House. “We’re very, very proud of our military. We are so proud of our military and it was another successful event.”
“We have the greatest military in the world and they’ve done their job as usual, so we have given them total authorization,” he added. “That’s what they’re doing. Frankly, that’s why they’ve been so successful lately. If you look at what’s been happening over the last eight weeks and compare that with really what’s happened the last eight years, you’ll see there’s a tremendous difference.”
“So we have incredible leaders in the military, and we have incredible military. We are very proud of them. This was another very, very successful mission,” Trump continued. “I don’t know if this sends a message, it doesn’t make any difference if it does or not. North Korea is a problem, but the problem will be taken care of.”
